How does consignment work?

  1. Bring your used but not abused top brand outdoor gear, apparel, footwear, bicycles, skis, sports equipment, pet accessories, etc. into the store. See below for more detail about items we consign. All items must be in clean, functional condition. No appointment needed. Accepted items vary by season.

  2. While you’re here, we’ll look through your items and let you know what we think would sell well in our store. Items may be rejected due to condition, brand, season, demand, or employee discretion.

  3. If it’s your first time consigning with us, we’ll ask you to fill out a new account contract. There is a one time $5 setup fee that can be paid up front or applied to your first sale.

  4. We will then price and tag your items and place them on the sales floor for customers to peruse. Pricing is both an art and a science that considers brand, condition, market demand, comparable sales, item category, etc. Consignor input is welcome, but you do not need to stay for this part of the process.

  5. When an item sells a portion of the sale goes to your customer account, and a portion goes to the store. Here’s how that breaks down:

    a) Items priced $100 or more: Consignor 70%, Store 30%

    b) Items priced under $100: Consignor 65%, Store 35%

  6. Call or stop by the store any time to check the balance of your account, use your store credit, or request a check.

  7. Items have a full year to sell before unsold items become store property and are eligible to be donated.

Why sell consignment?

We know that you have other options, but we believe that consignment is the most fair and convenient way to sell used gear. We have an obligation to our consignors to sell their items for a fair price and return to them the value they deserve. Consignors can skip the hassle of selling themselves: scheduling visits, inviting strangers to your home, negotiating prices, taking pictures, and creating posts. Your time is valuable. After you bring in your gear, you can sit back, relax, go on an adventure, and let us take care of the rest.

What brands do we consign?

Brands we consign include top tier outdoor gear, sports equipment, and apparel brands such as: Patagonia, The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Osprey, Big Agnes, Gregory, MSR, K2, Outdoor Research, Arc’teryx, Mountainsmith, La Sportiva, Salomon, Scarpa, Atomic, Tecnica, Rossignol, Black Diamond, Fischer, Jackson, Trek, Specialized, Giant, Deuter, POC, Smith, Hestra, Filson, Pendleton, Kuhl, Prana, Mizuno, Bauer, CCM, Yakima, Thule, Kuat, Saucony, 5.10, Yeti, Stanley, HydroFlask, Camelbak, GoLite, Hyperlite Mountain Gear, Jetboil, Marmot, Rab, Warrior, Burton, Dalbello, Ride, Alpina, Vuori, Exped, Exofficio, Royal Robbins, Mystery Ranch, Petzl, Vasque, SmartWool, DeMarini, Kuiu, Firstlite, Sitka, Sea to Summit, Sierra Designs, Hoka, Altra, Pearl Izumi, Nemo, and more!

Brands we do not consign include: department store brands, GAP, Old Navy, Target or Walmart brands, Shein, Temu, Fashion brands, Amazon Brands, and others. Fashion oriented brands are a better fit for other consignment stores in town that specialize in that style. Less expensive department store brands have their place and we’re not trying to be gear snobs, but the more affordable something is new, the less worthwhile it is to resell.

Items we do not consign include but are not limited to: electronics, large fitness equipment, scuba gear, motors or engines, skis and boots older than 10 years, firearms, motorcycle equipment or apparel, air mattresses, and water skis.

Why buy consignment?

Buying local, used gear keeps items in the community instead of the dump while helping you get outside more or try new things without breaking the bank. We have an obligation to our consignors to sell their items for a fair price and return to them the value they deserve, AND we have an obligation to our customers to sell quality gear at reasonable prices. This balance means that every item in the store has been vetted and priced fairly with both the consignor and the customer in mind. Our physical location gives you the opportunity to browse tons of items without the pressure or hassle associated with private sales.
